Local Organization

SummerCrest is a local camp. Our parent organization, Marin Educational Adventures, is a non-profit organization and a partner in the Can-Do foundation. We are open to all students and seek to be a viable member in the Miller Creek School District community..

Credentialed Staff

At SummerCrest our staff is composed of credentialed teachers, with the teaching skills needed to present meaningful, creative classes to their students. Several of our teachers work for the Miller Creek School District.

Unique Program Each Summer

Our classes are designed by our teachers and the SummerCrest director. These classes are designed to strengthen academic skills and, at the same time, be fun. Class projects foster collaboration, problems solving and critical thinking skills, cooperation, and appreciation and joy in learning. Class sizes are small -- 8-15 students.

Prevention of Summer Learning Loss

Our classes with instruction by our staff of professional teachers reinforce skills learned during the school year. Three months away from active learning is too long!

Transition to Kindergarten

Children entering Kindergarten in the fall may attend SummerCrest. Becoming familiar with an elementary school setting, engaging in learning activities, experiencing school success, and possibly even meeting future classmates all support a smooth transition to kindergarten.

FUN!!!

Each day at SummerCrest our campers experience outdoor activities, camp assemblies, games, and opportunities for recognition. Fun activities. A total camp experience for our campers!

New Friendships

SummerCrest sessions are 3-weeks in length. This extra time makes it easier for campers get to know each other well. Each summer we observe campers making new friends, parents setting up play dates, and students planning to return to SummerCrest together the following summer.

Maintenance of Skills During Summer

All on our staff are professional educators. Summer is a long period of time to shut out academic skills and stimulation. We seek to do our part to prevent summer learning loss.
